It had been a smooth path
When suddenly there was
A boulder in the road
And we stopped
Could we go around it?
Over it?
Blast through it?
Instead you walked away
Abandoned our path
As I turned to go back
I glanced over my shoulder
Only to see
Not a boulder
Not a rock
Not even a pebble
A tiny grain of sand

Ouch. I've been there. I have also been the one who walked away.
