What you do counts in Days of My Destiny

Today I worked with the worst teacher I have ever met. He was a relief teacher.

He did. not. listen. to his students.

He aggravated a child pretty much all day.

He didn’t read the TRS folder he was given (it’s a folder that lists information about the students - which is paramount in a special education setting - as well as daily routine information etc), so he didn’t know that the student he was aggravating all day needed 10 seconds to process any given command. He was uninterested and used threats like, “Don’t make me come over there,” and, “If you were my son....”

I mean are you serious??

Nobody liked him and nobody was enthused to do their work. I wasn’t even enthused. I came home exhausted, wearing a headache.

I’m glad that 95% of teachers are not that man.

To all teachers who are NOT like this, thank you. Thank you for listening to students and treating them with respect. Thank you for treating them with the dignity they deserve. Thank you for everything you do.

What you do or don’t do COUNTS. Whether you’re a teacher or a doctor or a cleaner or a student. What you do counts.
