Colic 5 Wednesday, December 17, 2008

It's now 9am. She is still crying. I have totally given up soothing her. There is nothing left. My mom will be here in 2 hours. I got 3.5 hours sleep. I have no idea why she is crying.

All I want to do is cry, but I can't because that will upset her too. My head hurts.

I am out of my mind.

It's okay for you to cry. Hold her and let her cry and you can cry too. The only thing to do with colicky babies is just to hold them close while they cry it out. But getting a break to get some sleep is good, too.

Good luck, and remember that this will pass! Then she'll be trying to wear miniskirts to school. :) [aimalyn] 12/17/2008 9:01:28 AM
Try to keep your sanity. I know it is hard. I know you both want sleep. In 13 years you will be telling her she will do those dishes because she denied you the pleasure of sleep for months and she will be quiet because she yammered on for the first months of her life and needs to take a small vow of silence for you. I hope mom can help. [muted exposure] 12/17/2008 9:03:25 AM
Hi. I saw you on the front page and COLIC jumped out of me.

I know you know nothing about me, but from one Mom to another, I know how much colic SUCKS. My son endured it from September 2007 to December 2007 and it wasn't easy. Just here stopping by to lend an ear if you need it because I have been right where you are and know how hard it is.

I'm not also going to give unwanted advice, but may I ask what kinds of things you have tried with your beautiful daughter? [Grace Is On Fire] 12/17/2008 9:03:30 AM
Go in another room and cry. It's stressful. It's o.k. [Ark's Dream] 12/17/2008 9:07:32 AM
I love Lily's new picture...what a beautiful Christmas girl! :) You've got to be exhausted and completely drained. I hope your parents are able to give you a hand and maybe let you get some rest. Everyone needs a break sometimes. [Mommy2Katie] 12/17/2008 7:54:54 PM
