Springtime Party in These Foolish Things

What fun! I’m so happy I had that party last night. It seemed to be just what the doctor ordered.

The great thing was that I got to see several friends I hadn’t seen in a long, long time…all in one fell swoop! It was a joy to see everyone.

The only downside to that is that I didn’t get to have enough time with any one person or couples of people. It was all little bits and spurts of catching up, and I feel like now I need to follow up with everyone just so that we can catch up properly.

The Bulldog came to the party and was actually quite a help - making sure everyone had drinks, talking with people and keeping things tidy. He even cleaned up all of the glasses and much of the trash afterwards!

The downside was that he was nowhere close to me at all during the party. It was almost like he was ignoring me, though we had a couple of moments of alone time when we went to walk the dog and smoke. I believe that he was just letting me do my thing and talk to people, but I honestly wanted him to be by my side, as MY DATE.

It’s weird to think that things like that have to be spelled out. Am I right?

Then. THEN! Today he actually went with me to have a late Easter lunch with my parents. Oh yes he did. I was shocked that he actually wanted to go. In fact, I invited him thinking that he’d say no, so I didn’t even tell my parents until right before lunch because I was sure he’d back out.

I, for one, had a great time. My parents liked him quite a bit - I have rarely talked about the guy because it’s so odd and complicated and just too hard to explain to anyone anyway. I think the Bulldog had a fine time - we had a great meal and he charmed.

Anyway, it was a nice lunch.

Came back to my place and cleaned up most of the remainder of the mess from the party.

I’m exhausted. I think that means that the party was a success!
