I’m going to start this entry at work because I’m going out with my friend who’s in town for work tonight. We’re going to have sushi at my fave place. Too bad I’m not drinking or we would do it up RIIIGHHT like we normally do, but my promise continues, and it would suck to blow it when I’m so close to the finish line!

Speaking of finish lines, I feel like I’ve hit one today. Just gave a 2.5 hour presentation to the execs, and I’m wiped. I only have one other meeting today and it’s to direct my whole team, so I’m going to go out for lunch and then ease into that meeting and then try to finish up a couple of other urgent issues and then get the eff out of here as quickly after 5 as I can (so I can go eat sushi with Nis!).

I’ve stepped up my wardrobe game here at work. It’s funny - there’s an IT guy at work who has helped Best Bud with a bunch of her computer stuff, and he sometimes likes to compare the two of us. He knows that we are good friends, but I think that she and I both vy for special treatment and equipment and stuff. So the other day, J. came to me and asked if we were the same management level (we aren’t, but I told him that we were..again with the vying), and he said something to the effect of, “well, she dresses like she owns the place…“

And right then and there I knew I had to step it up. Yeah, we both come from the fashion industry and now we’re in a similar but different industry together. But I think I may have been slacking a little, what with the casual dress code (jeans are appropriate, and I love wearing jeans, but I also love to accessorize and make them look great). I had dropped the ball.

So. Not anymore. I’m dressing like I own the place now. Maybe someday I will.

I’m home now from dinner with my friend. It’s so awesome that even though I’m not drinking this month, I came home from tonight’s dinner simply DRUNK with the joy of laughter and friendship. Although we had a short dinner and had a lot of catching up to do, we ended up belly laughing through all of dinner. It was nothing short of wonderful to see Nis again.

And she’ll be back in three weeks! THAT’S when we’re rally going to blow it out - with wine and everything !

OK. I”m sleepy. Time for bed, friends. Today was an 8.5!

I love you!
