In the bathroom today I overheard a woman telling her friend that some guy shouldn’t be trash talking “especially to a girl.”
One of my biggest issues with feminism is that it is usually one sided. Often women demand respect from men but feel they don’t have to give respect back. We should be putting as much effort into treating men as our equals as we do demanding to be treated as theirs. When one gender is placed as being more important than another, even if that gender has not usually been the subject of suffering because of their gender it is still inequality. Gender should never be a deciding factor in how we treat someone. No one should be mistreating (or trash talking) anyone. Period.
