From a Linguistics Perspective (useful for Pre-service teachers in a Linguistics-based academic program):

Free online course
Khan Academy
This isn’t the most helpful for language education in terms of teaching or learning another language. However, it might be possible to use this resource as a means to add content to your lessons.

The most helpful aspect I have found at this site is the section on Math since lessons on Statistics are available. The lectures, descriptions, and activities are pretty straightforward. If you are in a graduate program for Linguistics/Language teaching, chances are you will have to learn a bit about academic research and that means having at least a basic understanding of quantitative research. Being a person who learns best from interactive resources for subjects in Mathematics, I have found this site helpful in learning about descriptive and inferential statistics, which you will encounter in quantitative studies even if you do not conduct a study using quantitative or mixed-method paradigms. If you don’t know what the heck quantitative/mixed-method paradigms, you may not need to worry about it (yet).

Interactive Blog Community
Livemocha:

This site is owned by Rosetta Stone. While many language education professionals may not find Rosetta Stone to be a good stand-alone approach to learning another language, this site offers interactive opportunities with users of the language you wish to learn. To supplement language learning in the four skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening, users can participate in activities with others who are also learning or are proficient users whom are there to help.

Lecture
The Virtual Linguistics Campus (YouTube Channel):

This YouTube channel contains scores of video lectures (and mirco-lectures) on various topics in Linguistics from Pragmatics and Semantics, The Structure of English Language, Corpus Linguistics, Syntax, Phonetics, Phonology, and more.

MOOC
The Virtual Linguistics Campus - Philipps-Universität Marburg (Marburg University) in Germany:

This is a website developed by contributors from Marburg University in Germany. Most of the videos are in English, but be careful since some are in German. You can view many of the video lectures for free, but this site includes more than just the YouTube lectures. For example, you can take online courses (when they are offered) which are accredited. Please check with your institution’s program to make sure that this is an acceptable option for meeting degree/program requirements.

Compared to courses in the United States, the online courses this campus offers (and you can pay in US dollars) is relatively inexpensive. I have viewed dozens of the free video lectures myself and I have found them to be very helpful in supplementing my educational and teaching pursuits. Unless you take a full course from The Virtual Linguistics Campus, I would not recommend viewing these videos in lieu of any course reading assignments.

If you go to the university website, it will default to German, but you can access the English version by clicking on the Union Jack (UK Flag) on the top right. Screenshot with Union Jack circled.

Here is the University site.
