MUCH Better Mood Sunday, July 09, 2006

Oh Thank God.

Michael (roommate) is on vacation for a week. I have the apartment to myself! Hurray! He left on Friday so this whole weekend all I have been doing is cleaning. The living room and dining room look sooo good. I cleaned all the carpets with my new steam vac (the Hoover SteamVac Agility) and boy is this machine the bomb. My carpets look so nice and smell so wonderful. I dusted the whole place and organized the shelves and my apartment is nice and shiney clean. I still have to do the bathroom and my room, but that will have to be tomorrow or the next day. There is nothing like a clean apartment and time alone with out the ol' roommate messing it up as I go. Mmmm nice.

I went to the bar on Saturday. My friend, Joe and his annoying cousin, Amanda, were there. I decided to try going to the bar sober. It was kind of nice. I had a really good time. The only problem was trying to deal with Amanda. Any other time I have associated with her I have been drunk. She's the kind of person that one needs to be drunk to hang out with. She talks accessively. She never stops. It wouldn't be that bad, but it's always about herself. And it's the same conversation over and over again. She was cracking me up. I really didn't think people were really like this. Being sober brought a whole knew concept to me about her. Example conversation:

Amanda "Hey, Shannon... watch this!" (she says on the dance floor) Me: "Ummm ok." Her being all trashed. "This one move got me 5 guys paying attention to me when I was at this other bar." Me: "Ummm ok."

This is when she does this strip dancer type move shoving her butt out and flipping her hair.

It was then I looked around at saw that in fact it did get her attention. I was quite shocked that men didn't try shoving dollars in her pants.

Right after that some short fat guy started dancing with her and she was dancing all stipper like so I left the dance floor so I could just laugh at her from afar.

She finds me a little later and says, "Damn I love being beautiful!"

I wanted to smack her. Instead I just asked for a cigarette and decided to watch some girl dance with a blow up doll.

I kind of like going to the bar sober. I might keep doing it. People crack me up... and I remember driving home.

I went to Kumbi's friends house on Friday night. (with Kumbi) I had a really good time. There were quite a few people there. We drank and they had their music going. They really have skills. I am not even lying. When they sing together it sounds professional. These boys could really make it if they had the chance. Their voices blend together really well and they have this natural feel for harmony and they just really have a deep talent for their music. Anyway... I really enjoy sitting there listening to them. They even let me join in once in awhile. Good times.

Ok, I think that's it.

Leave a Note

I never have enjoyed being around drunk people when I was sober. They're funny at first for a little while and then I just get fed up with them.

LOL girl dancing with a blow up doll hahahahahaha Sounds boring. Amanda...sheesh...she has some lessons coming her way. You sound like a down to earth person and good for you! I like being sober and I hated those horrible hangovers. I like sober better too. [Mistie] 7/10/2006 8:28:06 AM

Hey my husband's receptionist is named Shannon, too.

I like you much better than I like him, though. [hawk.] 7/11/2006 10:44:02 PM
re: the receptionist I just wrote about is named Kelly. He belongs to another shop.

I never really cared for the interchangeable names, either; especially the name Terry. For some reason I know a lot of Terrys. They're all mechanics and they're all assholes.
