Quick blurb.

Getting ready for work and leaving in a little bit, but I just wanted to come on here and say that yesterday felt a million times better than the several days before it.

I worked at Santa’s Workshop for most of the day and it was sooooo laid back and happy! I worked with one of my staff to move product samples around. We are prepping for a pretty intense couple of weeks of sessions with our merchant team where we finalize the line that we’ve built.

This will be my first development line that’s truly mine - I started it back in early April when I first started and the products I’m working on will be on store shelves in early April, 2027! It’s really happening, guys! Ha.

But yeah, Santa’s Workshop is literally a warehouse stuffed full of products. It looks like utter chaos, but I’m seeing the actual systematic organization. There’s a team receiving boxes - thousands of boxes every day - and they are putting them into piles for each “team”. I now have pallets and pallets of products that I have to go back and unbox today.

From there, I will review each item we unbox, make comments for adjustments, and start to get them ready for merchant review.

I had ZERO actual meetings yesterday, so my whole day was spent organizing and moving things around and it felt like a massage to my brain.

And yes, there were lots of emails to get to, but literally everything felt a lot less like panic.

Someone here said I have to figure out how to take breaks when I can, and I am starting to. I’m a creature of habit, and unfortunately, every day is so vastly different that it’s hard to carve out some time, but I try to do a lunch every day and I try to take a lunchtime walk when I can, and I’m figuring out what to truly panic about and what is faux panic and drama from others.

Okay. Gotta get going. Fridays are mostly WFH for this company, but I’ve recently found out that…it’s not really true for those of us who work on product. When we’re finalizing lines, like we are doing over the next few weeks, we are in-office 5 days a week (bummer).

And my sourcing partner scheduled a vendor showroom visit today, so I’m about to go into my closet and put together an outfit that will work for both a vendor meeting AND for working at Santa’s Workshop (essentially a warehouse).

Wish me luck and a day that is as fun as yesterday was! 🤞
