Piano Wednesday, March 29, 2006
Well I did something interesting. At least I think it's interesting.
I play the piano. I play rather well. Normally I just write the music I play. I find that easier than trying to read music, which I can do, but because I avoided it so much as a child, I am not all that good at it. You see, as I child, I could play any song I wanted, I just played by ear. That made me lazy. Finally, by the time I got to level 3 I was sooo sick of piano lessons I begged my mother to let me quit. She let me. Anyway, I have signed myself up for piano lessons again. My goal: To review what I already know, get better at what I can do, and eventually teach piano.
Another goal of mine is to stop being so unmotivated and lazy. This is a very hard goal for me because it is in no way shape, or form: FUN. All I want to do is sleep, sit, and well... lay down. So I worked out today. AND Yesterday. Two days in a row. Wow. I am beat. UGH. I am sooo out of shape.
What else... hmmm ... I went to my parent's house a couple weeks ago. I was playing the piano when my niece came up and stood next to me listening. My sister emailed me a couple days ago and said, "Addie wants to start piano lessons again!" (she had recently quit) Then she said, "She wants to take lessons from you!" I was sooo happy I almost teared up. We are going to talk about it at Easter. I have always wanted a project with my neice. Now I may have one!
Time for bed! Goodnight.

That's great you a picking up the piano again. It's always nice to have something to focus on and strive for. I wish I had learned to play an instrument when I was younger. Anyway, sounds like a great goal :) [Serenity17] [p] 3/29/2006 8:31:35 AM
David Sedaris is great :) My Emi has some of the books, but not all of them, so if it's not too much trouble I wouldn't mind borrowing some from you sometime. Hope all is well :) [Serenity17] [p] 4/3/2006 9:44:31 AM
When I was a child I had a decent ear for music. Sadly my left hand is stupid and completely unable to hold up it's end of the work. My right hand's not much better ;-) [OddJohn]
