I’m sitting in my bed, laptop on my lap, enjoying the last of the sunset from the windows of Cornerlight Studio.

Looking around the loft - I’m maybe…mayyyybe 45% unpacked. But it’s starting to make sense now. Every day I see the potential more and more. The kitchen is nearly unpacked, but I still have some major decorating to do in there. The bathroom is coming along. The closet is going to be interesting to me since there’s no closet door, so I have to figure out if I want to hang a curtain in the doorway or leave it and make my closet a super cute, colorful ROOM of sorts.

I’ve discovered, since trying to put everything together in my closet, that I’m a HUGE fan of prints - you know, animal prints, geometric prints, not so many florals, but you get the point. My closet looks like some kind of textile museum. It’s fun!

And I haven’t even added the majority of shoes/boots, and bags yet! I have so many ideas for adding into that maximalism feel - like adding a pretty pendant light in there and even a storage pouf of some sort to set on the floor and add to a decorated feel instead of being just a storage area.

The kitchen is another story. Still not fully fleshed out, but I have decided that her colors are going to be orange, goldenrod and turquoise.

Bedroom will remain neutral textures with lush, green accents (fresh, green leaves and succulents).

Living and dining room areas still need some fresh touch-ups.

I took advantage of Memorial Day sales and purchased several new area rugs - so excited about those! They are really going to make the different “sections” of the loft POP.

So many fun ideas that I just need to get executed.

And yes, it’s Memorial Day. I used the day off to go visit mom and dad - and saw my bro, SIL and niece as well. They are all doing well. Mom was a little bit grumpy, but not bad. Dad was in good spirits, though really moving slowly now. Bro and SIL are still oddballs, but they are both on health kicks, which is awesome! My brother has stopped drinking so much, and it’s made a world of difference. All good things. I had a nice visit, but cut it short when it started raining because we’re supposed to get big storms.

So now I’m home (waiting for my Amazon grocery delivery), and the long weekend has come and gone. I kinda have the Sunday Scaries on Monday night. I mean, not really. I did a few hours of work on Saturday too, so I feel somewhat caught up. I think I had about 300 emails in my inbox, and I cleaned all that up as well.

Work is going to be hard to manage in a normal work week, and the fact that my boss is now putting some 7am meetings on my calendar, I’m like, fuuuuuck. When do I get some down time?

But I’m still so very glad to be working hard again. The days go by pretty quickly (though the commutes still feel long). I know the peeps are going to be dicks, but that’s just what I have to put up with for a while. I think it’s gong to be okay once I get used to it again.

Okay, eyes are closing and I think my delivery is the next stop for this AMZ driver. I’m going to go do my nighttime routine and call it a day.

Hope you’re all doing freaking fabulous!

xox,
GS
