My brother introduced me to this artist.
He said it was the closest to explaining his addiction he could share with me.
I want to believe that he wanted to move up to Ohio to get clean. I really want to believe that.
He never understood that it wasn’t a straight road back to recovery, he wanted to be free of it but he couldn’t do it alone. Of course our upbringing didn’t allow for asking for help, then him going into the marines, just cemented that.
I would love to believe he was coming to get help.
He abandoned his daughters. He couldn’t be around them and let them see what he’d become. In his own way he was protecting them.
