Getting old in Well now

The contagious part of the covid thing which hit me in the last week of February has been over for a couple of weeks now.  I'm still not well, but the really active stuff is over with.  No fevers, no major body aches, no massive congestion, and the ears are no longer infected.  The doctor says basically I'm in the residual phase - seriously run-down, susceptible to every last bug the walking Petrie dishes I teach generously throw at me - the congestion and cough I have now is probably just the usual stuff that's getting passed about - but the lingering problems with my ears, that's the covid legacy - those puppies are still fluidically engorged, refusing to drain properly - makes hearing fairly distorted but better now than a month ago  - it's like the volume is turned down now where before it was turned off - the tinnitus, though, that's still clear as a bell tone trapped in my head.  I've also got perpetual fatigue - even the cats can't outnap me on days that work doesn't require me to maintain at least the illusion of consciousness - been tired for what seems like an eternity now -

Glitch!  Splack!  Shortelbuzz!

That was the sound of me trying to snap me out of my excessive torpidity.
Bitching about sicking
and sinking to the laziness of ignoring even the discipline of punctuation.
Oh, whoa is me, I can't even be bothered to write discrete sentences.
I'd apologize but that's another bother up with which I don't feel like putting.

Okay.
In other news, I do have a lot to say, but not the energy to do any of it justice tonight.
What, pray tell, is my breaking news?
Here are a few things I shall flesh out as soon as I get the ummph together to tell well.

  • We just celebrated my father's 95th birthday
and there has been a major change.
  • I have made a couple of reeeeaaaalllly bad financial / life planning mistakes
and am not certain I know how to fix them.
  • I have been given a completely unexpected (and totally undeserved) gift,
the use of which will require my passport be up to date.

So, when I can get to it,
I will wax (annoyingly as ever)
upon the good, the bad, and the I-just-don't-know.
