I have an official date for induction if she doesn’t come before 37 weeks. It is Sunday night 1/4/15 or Monday morning 1/5, depending on my level of dilation the week before. If I need to go Sunday night it will just be for something to soften my cervix and then Monday morning will be the official medical “pitocin induction”. I am still holding out hope that she will come on her own before then and I have been taking EPO orally and inserting it vaginally every night this week.
This decision was made based on her growth - she has been measuring on the small side of “normal” for a few weeks and yesterday at my 34 week ultrasound she had dropped to the 26th percentile from the 37th (at 32 weeks) and only gained a few ounces. BPP looked good though and all parts and organs were accounted for and working. Basically the only real need for her to stay in longer would be to see if she will grow a bit, which if she isn’t doing that very well then its probably just safer for her to be on the outside.
I have been having strong contractions for a few days - nothing consistent, but definitely painful and able to stop me from doing whatever I’m doing at the moment. I tried to time a few, but they are very irregular - sometimes every 8-10 min then other times only once per hour or so. The monitor picked up a few today during my NST, but nothing strong enough to worry over.
