Wednesday in Musings and Misgivings

In spite of everything, my life is good. I have awesome friends, a dream fiancé, a beautiful apartment, my daughter is stable and happy in Seattle… I had a very good therapy session today, and only had mostly good news to share. She commended me on my efforts and growth.

After my therapy session, I was thinking about how I do not have much left that I can list for sale. I do not have the money to source new inventory right now. I started spying my closet, what can I get rid of? Do I really need that pink sparkly strawberry special occasion dress? A floor length navy wool coat?

Just looking at the strawberry dress brings me joy, so I am going to keep it. Just as I was reaching into the closet, my phone went off. My friend Heidi… “I have a couple of bags of collectibles I thought you might be able to sell. I can drop by in half an hour!”

SCORE!

So I got dressed, and met her outside. We hugged. twice, and she also delivered a pep talk! “Do you know how awesome you are? I mean really? You’re the most bitchin’ woman I know.” Wow! I’ll take it.

I brought the bags in and discovered a few swag items from Comic Cons and other tv and movie marketing events. A t-shirt and cups from the Boys, a Haunted Mansion purse, a brand new Nightmare Before Christmas lunch tote, and the most beautiful fancy black witch dress. There’s a lot more, but I decided to try the black witchy dress on. OH MY GOODNESS! IT FITS! I really think it might have wedding dress potential!

We are having plumbing problems in the apartment complex. The plumbers have been here three days in a row, and the water has to be shut off while they’re here, which has made getting my laundry done impossible. Maybe tomorrow.

We don’t have a ton of food right this minute. I went to the cupboards and fridge, looking for something to quell the hypoglycemia. Hands shaking, I had a decision to make. Eat what leftovers there are in the fridge for lunch, which will make dinner prep a little more difficult, as any replacement would have to be cooked, which I am not sure I can do. So I settled on a piece of sourdough with peanut butter on it. So we will have the leftover chili mac and salad, using the last head of romaine lettuce. I can possibly make another batch of fried rice to get us through until Friday.

Rick should be getting paid on Friday, and hopefully there is a little wiggle room for a few groceries. If not, if Rick is done working this week, we will be able to go to the food pantry on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. We can visit once a week, so it will keep us fed.

We have a Valentine’s Day party at our friend Ryan’s place on Saturday. Ryan’s parties are always a good time. We have drinks, sit around a table eating and talking. There is a dj, who used to work at goth clubs. Oh! And they have a barn in the back with sheep and sometimes horses.

I am going to spend the rest of my afternoon relaxing, before Rick gets home. Then we will hang out and watch movies while we have dinner.

I hope everyone is having a decent week !
