A Date and a Diet Update Sunday, February 27, 2005
Hello there OD. This weekend was a good weekend. I mean... a really good weekend.
I met a boy. Whoo hooo! We went on a date. Yippy! He talked to me the day after! YEAH! He's cute, funny, independent, wealthy, fun, and sooo sweet. The best part is... I think he's interested in me! Could it be? Could it be my chance? We have been talking online from the dating service for awhile now. We met on Saturday and he took me out to eat. (A real date!) We talked and talked. I didn't know if it went well or not... It was hard to tell. It wasn't like magic or anything... but we had fun. Then he took me home, walked me to the door, and hugged me. He was so polite and kind the whole time.
I had to keep myself busy today. I really wasn't sure if he'd talk to me again. It was one of those, "I hope he still talks to me after this!" No plans were made to meet up again or anything, and he just said, "Well, I'll talk to you online later." So I was very nervous. So today I cleaned and worked out to stay busy. Then tonight he came online and talked to me! Soooo it might not be perfect and he might not be that interested, but it's a start. And not only a start, but a chance. This has to work out. It has to. (no pressure)
Lets see. Update on my diet. On Friday I was at my lowest. 143.5. That is 13.5 pounds lost. However, I ate well this weekend and I was 146 today. I should be at 145.4. So I am sure I will be there by Tuesday. Tuesday's seem to be my lowest weight date. I did really good today. I only ate like 550 calories and I worked out. (a really good work out too) I am getting stronger. I can feel it when I swim my laps. I can do 6 laps now compared to my two when I started. (yes, I am that out of shape!) I have a doc appointment on Tuesday and I am wondering if he's going to notice the weight loss with out me saying anything. They weigh me every time I go so hopefully he'll say something. That would be cool. I have to admit... it's getting harder to lose weight. However, I did learn why the body stops losing weight after a certain point. I read it's because the smaller you get, the less calories you need.
Anyway, I think I have updated enough for now. I can't really think of anything else that is new and exciting. I can't fit into my jeans yet... but it's close. I can put them on and zip them up... I just can't breathe in them. However, breathing is over-rated. Ha.
Goodnight!

Be careful with your diet. Your body needs a certain amount of things each day or bad things happen. I'm sorry, I'm taking Anatomy and I am in the Nursing Program in school. I'm begining to think as a nurse. LOL. Make sure you get plenty of calcium and stuff like that. Not trying to mother you, but I'm going to be one real soon...sorry if I have upset you in any way. Just want you to be careful. [One Crazy Mom] 2/28/2005 1:14:24 AM
Congrats about the boy... er man I suppose, either way, yay! Be careful with that diet of yours, you're restricting your calories a lot, and that can cause you to lose a lot of the nutrients you gain, and can actually make it harder to lose weight, b/c it slows down you basal metabolic rate. Anyway, hope you have a great day :) [Solitary17] 2/28/2005 7:55:06 AM
Sweet. I hope 'love is in the air.'
Beyond that though.. GO YOU!! on your diet.
Im not so impressed that you lost all that weight, although that is something to be impressed by. What impresses me is that your still going at it. Having the determination to keep going is more impressive. Keep up the good work. [LastInLine]

Congratulations on your diet and congratulations on meeting someone new. I hope everything works out for you. You certainly deserve it. [Hawk.] 2/28/2005 1:44:21 PM
Swimming is probably the best thing you could be doing. It takes a LOT of energy. Up your calories, though. 550 is too low even if you're NOT doing any kind of exercise. With swimming, you definitely need more.
When you stop swimming, is it because you're winded, or physically exhausted (as in arms and legs no longer work). The first is a sign of needing more carbs to power [JKD Student]

yourself during the swim. Go ahead and up your intake and see if that helps with how many laps you can do. If nothing else, it's just healthier. [JKD Student]
