December is here in The Wanderer

Well like I always say, time sure is flying by! I feel like I am in crunch mode since the end of the year is approaching and I need to be out of this apartment by the end of February. I got myself a second job at Chili’s and I am pretty stressed hoping the scheduling between two jobs isn’t going to fuck me over. Right now I make decent money at the YH, but I don’t get enough shifts. In a perfect world I could work 3 shifts at Chili’s and 3 at the YH. With my bills, car payment, and rent I am going to be spending around a grand a month so I need to make sure I am making enough money!
With that in mind, I decided to just make homemade gifts for everyone this year. I went to Hobby Lobby and got a bunch of supplies and I have gifts for 10+ people now and I only spent a hundred bucks. Not too bad! I just need to dedicate some time to make all of this stuff. Derek’s is the most time consuming because it is a date book. I made a jar and decorated it and 12 popsicle sticks each representing an all-day date. I want to have one for every month. I got the idea from Pinterest and then decided to make a book to go along with it. Whenever we have a free day together throughout the year of us living together he can pick a stick and it has a number on it. Then he looks in the book and opens that envelope and finds out what the date will be! So far I have a scavenger hunt in Claremont, two movies dates, brewery, adventure in Beverly Hills, a museum, zoo, theme park....I am going to add a few more when I get around to it. So far it looks pretty cool! Then we can add things to the book like pictures and stuff when we go on our dates. It will be something we can both look forward to throughout the year.
Well A and T came out to visit and we went to Caralie’s wedding which was on a yacht in Newport. It was a lot of fun! The time flew by too fast. I didn’t get to see too much of them because they were very busy trying to see everyone in the short amount of time they were here, which I could definitely relate to when I would plan my visits back home! I can’t wait to visit them in North Carolina in March with Derek!
My cousin Jennifer is getting married, and their engagement party is this January. But the wedding isn’t until 2016 because she wants to finish school first. Speaking of school, I realized I have to WAIT to do my fafsa until I do my own taxes because the past two years were joint taxes filed with Dave and if I fill out the fafsa now, it will be based on that information. So it is better for me to wait. So unfortunately I won’t be able to attend in Spring, but I was planning for fall anyway....I am crossing my fingers I can get enough grants to attend ULV!!
Well my new car is doing great! It is such a relief to drive a car that actually works. But I do miss Herby. My new car is a “girl” and the name Tyler came up with, Sherby, just kind of stuck…haha. Anyway, I am going to try to start writing in here more often! I have just been so busy!
