Happy Thanksgiving all! It’s been quite the day.

But, of course, all I want to tell you about involves a boy. A particular boy. The same one that I’ve been gabbing about for like two years already. Mostly because it’s the most recent thing that happened, so let’s work our way backwards. I guess.

We got home a little after seven and as we were rounding the corner to our house I saw the J gang packing up the car. Well, first I glanced to my left to see that very familiar truck parked on the street and then I saw the trunk of their car open in front of the neighbors. We pulled into the garage and Mom suggested we put the door down, but I told her that she couldn’t do that because they’d already seen us. Just as I was finishing that sentence, B ran up and smashed his face against my window to say hi.

So we got out and gave hugs. Little B came running quickly after and we started all the chattering and greeting. J and CK came walking up right after them. I hugged J and noticed that Mom was actually hugging CK. I don’t think she’s ever done that before. haha. So I cut through the crowd and went up to him right after. [He’s getting better at hugging. hah]

Funny thing is that basically the whole way home I was thinking about him. It’s the thing I do. Think about people I know as opposed to all the dumb life stuff that actually matters. It keeps me distracted and all day-dreamy.

Anyway, I was doing that. Then there he was. Except he was acting strange. Like he didn’t say a word. After standing there for a bit, he walked away to, I assume, ask M if she needed any help. Then he walked back and stood around silently some more.

The rest of us talked about a bunch of stuff. Little B really wanted to go inside our house to play. hah. B also wanted to tell me secrets and asked if he and his family could come over tomorrow at 2am. haha! I talked him down to 10am, at least. We talked about their Thanksgiving, and eating, and fish, and all sorts of everything.

M came back with a big plate of cheesecake. Finally! The cheesecake I’ve been waiting months for. I joked with her about not bringing me a fork. haha. She said she’d actually thought about it but had stuck the last clean one in her mouth to lick it off. Thanks a lot! ;) When they got ready to go, B actually bumped into me and knocked the plate into my chest. They were so worried about having gotten it on my shirt, but I told her that it wasn’t a big deal because I’d eat it off my shirt if it had. =]

Love me some cheesecake!!! [And it was very, very delicious!!]

They all gave hugs and stuff as they got ready to go. The kids mostly, and J.
CK did this funky half-wave thing, said bye, and walked away. Just like that. You know it’s weird when even your Mom walks in the house and says, “Ck didn’t want to give us a hug goodbye, or what?” =\

He was right there though, again, and still doesn’t say anything to me. It drives me nuts. Like what the heck have we been doing for all this time? sigh It’s not like it even matters…

On the plus side: I won some money at the casino! Mom and I went to one last year and we decided to do it again this year. So we spent the night last night and had a big buffet breakfast/lunch today before playing for a few hours. We hit the buffet at just the right time too. It started getting super crowded when I went up for my last plate and the line was down the hall by the time we exited. It stayed like that for a long time too. Looks like we made it right on time to avoid all the crazy.

I’d only taken 100 dollars to play. Put sixty in my pocket and decided that that was what I’d play this morning. My luck’s been pretty bad in recent memory. I lost most of it pretty quickly. Played 20 bucks from Mom and lost that too. Then I slipped my last 20 into a machine and was down to about 15 coins. I won about 100 more and then hit 1600. Left the machine with 400 dollars. Thank you very much world! =)

When I got home, I kept a hundred of it [to replace what I’d spent and take a little extra] and gave the rest to Mom. What do I need it for? I have money sitting in my bank account, it’s not much, but she does everything for me. She deserves it.

So that was my Thanksgiving. The food was pretty good, I still ate too much of it, and the cheesecake dessert I came home to was fantastic. The winnings were a happy bonus.
And I’ll just have to get over the whole CK thing, as per usual.

rose.
