This isn't a porn erotica.  I just had my first Thai massage yesterday.

I somehow managed to hurt my upper-back sleeping a couple of nights ago, and I really didn't think I was going to make it through my shift at work yesterday.  One of my workmates, an older lady, told me that she thinks I slept crooked if it's my upper back causing my issues, and I had to agree with her, as what else could it be?  Anyway, I looked up a few massage places online and saw a Thai place with 4.7/5 reviews that had plenty of availablities.  I just needed to get through that shift, ergh.  I booked for 4:30pm, since I finished at 4pm yesterday.

I found the place, in the middle of the CBD, and it was on level 3 of a building, but it's layout was like that of a country town's doctor's surgery, and it's decor was really cute with designed fabrics and those cats with the waving arms etc.  I was about 10 minutes early, but they got me in right away.  I was asked to take my clothes off, but I kept my underwear on.  I mean, I had only booked a remedial massage for my upper back, so I didn't see why I needed to be completely starkers.  But anyway, I had just chosen 'any practitioner' on their website.  I had been given a petite lady, but holy hell, she knew what she was doing.  She asked if I wanted soft, medium or firm pressure, and I really didn't know, so I just went with medium.  I'd hate to think what 'firm' would have felt like lol.

I think the most surprising part was when she got up on the table on top of me and used her bodyweight, using her knees to push into the back of my thighs.  So I can say I've been ridden by a women for the first time in my life :P

But she was amazing.  She concentrated on my upper back more than anywhere else, but still did a whole-body massage.  I had booked for an hour, so I suppose it made sense.  My calves were especially sore, as was my lower back, but man, I felt every part of my upper back as she un-knotted whatever the hell I had done in my sleep the night prior.  It's scary to think that as I get older, just going to bed can be enough to cripple me the next morning.  Is this what adulting is like after 40?  Jesus.  I'm already afraid that I'll put my back out with a sneeze someday.  My sister managed to do it coughing, and she's only a decade older than I am.  I'm very glad I had the massage done.  It's not something I usually do, but I knew something was wrong.  I didn't think I'd be able to get out of bed this morning from how much she worked me yesterday, but I seem to be still be mobile, for now.  I can still feel my back being a bit of a bitch, but oh well.  Not much else I can do.

I also had a missed call while I was at work yesterday, but thankfully they had also left a text message (so much easier!)  It was from STARS, offering me a place on August 7th for my knee surgery!  All I had to do was reply to the message with a YES, my name and my date of birth, if I wanted to accept that date, or ring them to change it.  I decided then and there to accept it.  Work can deal with it.  So I applied for my leave right away.  I've got about 140 hours of personal leave, so I applied for 4 weeks off, but I told my manager that I may need 6 weeks yet.  I just don't know how I'll go.  Word got around the store pretty past that I was having surgery.  Man, the gossip-train moves fast!  I just have to bring in a medical certificate to prove I'm not faking it lol.  It turns out soooo many staff are having August off on holidays, but I ain't putting this off, so I'm joining them.  Mine won't be much of a holiday though.  I'm really hoping my painkillers will be good.  It's going to be a lot of soft-tissue healing from what I can understand.
