Twitter: Why To Boycott Black Thursday/Friday in Book One: The Not So Daily Briefs 2014

I have always been against Black Friday shopping. Too many people behaving like absolute assholes in the name of saving some dollars… usually not even shopping for presents anymore; people are shopping for themselves on Black Friday. And now… many many stores are opening on Thanksgiving. In fact, many stores aren’t even doing Door Busters on Black Friday; since they are all being done on Thursday.
I realize my wife works at Wal-Mart and is largely going to be shit upon… there is a reason why I do believe that her job is a large part of our marital problems… but how they are treating their employees, my wife included, feels bloody criminal!
ON THANKSGIVING DAY my wife is scheduled to work from 2pm to 11pm. ON THANKSGIVING DAY! Then, of course… if she works a full shift during supper time on Thanksgiving Day; you’d think… maybe, just maybe they’d give her Friday off… y’know, so she could spend some time with family? NOPE! On that Friday she is scheduled to work from 8am to 5pm! So… if you’ll forgive the use of unprofessional language: Fuck you, Wal-Mart and fuck you consumer-obsessed culture!

i have to say fuck you walmart too!
i love walmart on other days. it is one of the greatest stores to shop at. but for walmart and some of these other stores opening on thanksgiving day and these wee hours of the morning.
i am done with all that. never again. a few years back as a gesture my nieces asked me to take them black friday to get gifts for their parents. i went to walmart- never again. as soon as i got there we had to leave. i felt bad for the workers who work at walmart because there were some vile, rude, obnoxious people on those lines waiting to go in. carrying, potential fights. people holding parking spots in the parking lot acting like complete idiots.
it was highly disturbing. i actually do 80% christmas shopping online. i can not deal with the drama at the stores anymore. plus people throwing stuff all over the damn place too. you notice how damn dirty some of the stores get during the holiday- all for corporate greed.

i did a walmart black friday one friday after thanksgiving at 5am. got what i wanted because not too many others wanted it. but, i won't do it again. people are just too rude and willing to snatch and grab in spite of other people being there first. and i just don't think stores need to be open on thanksgiving day. good grief! give people time with their families. i won't go shopping from wednesday night thru to the following monday morning. i will not shop black friday weekend. take care,

I hate the whole black Friday culture. It seems really stupid and capitalistic to me. And DANGEROUS! People getting trampled and into fist fights and such. I don't get people sometimes.
