Full-ish moon, ladybugs... in These titles mean nothing.

… seems like we’re having more of them.

Full moons and ladybugs.

I know that makes no sense.

But it seems t

rue to me.

Yesterday was the first time in a long time with both a new New York and a new New Yorker.

New Yorker only has one short story - in the old days they had more than one. If you look you can find John Updike and perhaps John Cheever talking about fewer opportunities for short story writers.

Current story is “From, To” by David Bezmozgis. It’s very good. I read it in bed with the almost full moon outside my window. It’s about the death of a grandmother in a first, second, this generation Jewish family. I marked parts of it with my favorite Pilot red gel pen. It involves the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, comparing it to memories of the Holocaust. It explains things to people like me.

Another current issue in the current issue is mentioned in a cartoon of two cats lazing on the sofa - wondering is AI will replace them.

I just went looking for a link to the New Yorker story but they want to be paid - funny thing, huh?

I found this:

It’s about men and women and dating. The woman in this one is from Hinge, for heaven’s sake.
