Good Friday morning! Today’s word is SUPPORT.
I saw a bit of buzz on socials about the Kamala Harris Zoom calls that have been happening this week, and late afternoon yesterday, the link for the White Women call started floating around my text circles, so I got curious and decided to log in.
And I was so glad I did!
First of all, I’m VERY excited to be part of making history. And last night’s Zoom got me fired up and all kinds of emotional. I have many, many, many thoughts, but the main one is that we really need to elect this woman.
Did it feel a little weird to be part of something called a “white woman event”? Um, yes. Many times I feel ashamed about the fact that we white women either stay quiet when it comes to political activism (yes, absolutely me after being bashed for something political I said on Facebook in 2015) OR so many of us - over 50% of us (!!) - freaking VOTED for fucking Donald Trump in the last fucking election.
But this time and in this Zoom call, I was moved. Yes, I donated, and YES I fully support Kamala Harris for POTUS!! In fact, I will certainly attend more events in support of this movement. We truly HAVE to make this happen for so, so, sooooo many reasons.
We broke Zoom! We broke the innanet! And now we gotta break balls, haaaaa!
