Good morning! Today’s word will be PREPARATION.

I’m prepping myself for the call today. I think Anni is too, though I can tell she has no clue what I’m about to say to her. Our texts have been light and full of heart emojis. And we’ve scheduled a time when she’s on a business trip and going to call me from a car on the way to the airport, so that will be interesting. But it’s going to be FINE!! We KNOW we can do HARD THINGS!!

My subconscious is really sorting through things as well. Last night I had a dream that I broke my no-alcohol streak and had drinks with an alcoholic friend who’d secretly fallen off the wagon (only in my dream, of course) and told me that it was fine to drink every once in a while! Everything seemed normal. We were drinking some kind of dumb orange concoction - not even pretty, garnished cocktails - and suddenly it hit me that I was getting drunk with an alcoholic who’s built a whole career out of being sober and telling her story! In my dream she was like, eh. No biggie!

Weird.

Switching gears to work. Yesterday, it was quietly announced that Head Cat is going to fire his executive assistant, so our team is going to consist of: The Founder (Head Cat), CEO (still needs a name), Social Media Manager (needs a name), Product Manager (needs a name), and Director of Product Development and Strategy (Ginger!!)

Okay. Let’s name them now and then I can move on with my day.

Head Cat = Founder of the company - scattered and inappropriate, changes his mind every day
Kitty Cat = CEO - beautiful and brains, soft-spoken and incredibly empathetic
Goldie Cat = Social Media Manager - pretty and blonde, talks a mile a minute, full of energy and fun
Smarty Cat = Product Manger - young mother of two young boys, whip smart and incredibly clever, super sarcastic

…and me! I suppose I’m Ginger Cat while I’m working at this company!

Better go… I’m a little late this morning and need to get into it.

xo,
GS
