One question -
one a scale of one to ten with 1 being very liberal and 10 being very conservative - how do you rate yourself?

Notes are private. Everyone is welcome.

Here are a couple cow pictures while you think - °°°°°

This is the morning Eddie went to meet his summer wives. I told them the would have cute calves next spring. He did a bit of frolicking in the fresh tall grass and seemingly limitless outdoors.

I intended to crop some of the sky and grass from the pictures but Imjur was obdurant. Or unyieldingly stubborn. As was the internet when I wanted my old favorite dictionary. The one with derivations and the graphs showing word usage in the last couple hundred years. You guys ever get that one? One of my favorite word things is to see how a words usage changes as time goes by. Kinda like population over time graphs - I like them too.

Have a good day people.

It’s lovely here. Sunny, clear, fresh, full of birdsong. Away son and I are going to college down to shop for plumbing supplies. Wish us luck - and perhaps some conversation.

On second or so thought, I guess I’ll leave the notes open. Feel free to make any responses private but it you want to engage the world in your lefty/righty configuration, feel free. It feels like the liberal thing to do.

I’m 1.5. I like to keep my clothes on in public.

I’m probably a 3.
Some fiscal conservatism is creeping in. There is just so much waste and I know too many government employees that focus more on how little they can do and still get paid.
Can I come and live in a trailer in one of your pastures???

About the trailer. I'd enjoy having you here.
Years ago my husband took his mother and sister to a birthday party for a cousin in Waterloo. I got to stay home. But.
A month of so later a guy who'd been at the party came 'hunting'. He had a small travel trailer that he parked at the creek crossing probably 1000 ft from the buildings but visible from the house and also from the road. It got weird. My husband had thought he was inviting him for a weekend but he stayed a couple months. What was weird - well a lot was weird - the neighbors started complaining. They who lived a quarter or half a mile away or farther and not in sight of our house or of the trailer did not want them there. Eventually the man and the trailer left. I don't think I ever met him.
Made me more careful about letting him go to family events without me though.

I'd say I'm a 6.5 or 7. I'm more conservative, but in the middle because I'm not religious and I, under certain circumstances, believe in abortion. I believe in the constitution and am very 2A. I am against this sexuality agenda being taught to small children. It probably wouldn't be so bad if it was introduced to teens, but not little kids... and they need to be realistic about sexuality. And no surgeries until 18 yrs old.. No hormone blockers at all. Basically lay off the kids... That's probably what makes me most conservative. I also don't believe the government should have as much power as they have to just infringe on our constitutional rights, but some of the programs they have do benefit people, but there should be restrictions and requirements for it. People shouldn't be living off welfare most of their lives and be held responsible for their living situations, but there definitely should be helpful programs for the disabled who ACTUALLY can't work. There's a lot more but I'm not gonna write a novel...

Thanks for sharing. I agree with a lot of what you said. Not all of it though. Best wishes to us all.

Just Annie June 29, 2024

I'm a 2.

It's a rainy day here. We've had quite a bit of rain here, but it's been so dry, the ground has been soaking it up. It should clear up this afternoon. But still a very pleasant day. I can practically see the corn grow!

Sleepy-Eyed John June 29, 2024

I don't know enough about them and I'm not American but I'm more so liberal.

NorthernSeeker June 29, 2024

Eddie is going to have a good summer!

What are the beliefs of a liberal vs a conservative at this time? My old-timey metrics come from the late 70s and early 80s.

Florentine June 29, 2024

I am likely a 3. I believe change and reform can come from multiple angles. The most vocal radicals can sometimes dismiss slow and steady policy evolution. They can often be extremely critical with very little actual compassion or interest in true change. I'm too old for that outlook. It's one tool in the toolbelt, but it takes a good many to actually fix systemic issues.

thesunnyabyss June 29, 2024

I'd say 5 maybe 6 depending on the day.

Purple Dawn June 30, 2024

I'm a 7 or an 8, but it's in Canada and our PM and Liberal Party are an annoying joke.

Brakeshoe Bob June 30, 2024

I’d say 7 to 8. I believe in limited government. Government is to serve us, not the other way around. I detest both parties, since they are profesional politicians, which is not how our founders made it to be.
