My cat has FIV in General musings

The new old kitty hasn’t been herself for a few days, so finally took her in to the vet today. They ran all kinds of tests, and it turns out she is FIV positive! The current issue is a gall bladder infection, which they treated with a long-lasting injectible antibiotic, as well as an appetite stimulant, a B-12 shot, hydration - well, 8 shots in all, plus a force-feeding. Cost over 600 bucks! I only hope this is not the start of opportunistic infection. They really couldn’t tell us much - some cats never really get symptoms, and all her other blood work looked great, soo… hopefully she will recover from the gall bladder thing and become asymptomatic again.... We love this kitty so much even though she’s only been with us for 3 months…really hope she’s okay…
