Holiday baking at its finest.

First up the mousse. Omg.
2 cups heavy whipping cream.
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup baking cocoa powder. More if you want a more chocolatey flavor
splash o vanilla ( or a teaspoon if you must measure)
Mix slowly then beat on ever increasing speeds till it mousses up. You will know when.

Crush 3-6 candy canes in a baggie and set aside.

Peppermint chocolate bread.
I would prob use a brownie base in the future.

ingredients
½ cup butter softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
½ cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup chocolate chips
1 tsp peppermint extract

instructions
Cream butter and sugar together. Add in eggs and sour cream, beating until smooth and creamy.
Add in dry ingredients and mix until all combined. Stir in chocolate chips and peppermint extract.
Spoon batter into a well greased loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 50-55 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Let bread rest in pan for 20 minutes before removing to cool completely.

Modifications I made.
I did not have chocolate chips. So I took a verity of christmas hershey kisses ( white and chocolate hugs, hot chocolate kisses and mint kisses), chopped them up fine and put them inside and on top of the bread

This is NOT a crazy sweet bread. The whipped mousse on top offsets it nicely.

Picture may or may not attach.
