We went with the included tour for today because we read great reviews about it. The tour did not disappoint. It took us to Blockhouse Fort, which has a nice view of the island, and then to Shirley Height, which has a nice view of the other side of the island, and then down to Nelson’s Dockyard, which is a touristy area/marina with a small museum in it.

If this was 10 years ago, we would have taken the afternoon to walk up Long Street and check out St. John’s Cathedral and the museum, but we are old and lazy these days, so we spent the afternoon by the pool on the ship. It was a bit too hot for me, but La Professeure liked it a lot. The bright side is that I got to catch up on some podcasts, read a bit, and watch the frigate birds hover above.

We met up with La Professeeure’s parents when they came back from their beach day, and had a zoom call with her brother and sister-in-law’s family for thanksgiving. In true thanksgiving tradition, we ate too much food - but that’s because we went to the buffet.

After that we went to the show, and this time the cruise director has his one-man show, doing mostly broadway songs, with some jokes in-between. He has a singing background and you can tell, but his jokes aren’t as funny as the assistant director’s show. This and the assistant cruise director’s shows were easily the best entertainments.
