Auster, Bellow and Roth

I’m reading The Dean’s December and Letting Go.

Dean’s December is a little paperback I took in the bathtub the other night. The light’s not good enough to read in the bathtub. There is talk of getting a new showerhead and replacing the sliding doors with a shower curtain and that I think would improve the lighting.

Letting Go takes me back to the U of I that I didn’t go to but Roth did. I remember it all. What a life we didn’t have.

Dog has very perky ears. Dog’s chair used to be Joana’s, before that Jim’s landlord’s mother’s chair.

Barn is waiting completion. It’s a little farther along that this picture though. All the siding is on. Still waiting for ramp construction. Equipment is still here - two lifts and a skidloader with tracks.

And everything else is just the way it always was.

"Just the way it always was." sounded very comforting to me.
What a pretty little dog, is it part husky?

Love your old barn. Here it used to be tobacco farming which uses a different type of barn. They are disappearing rapidly and there is an effort to save some of them or at least catalog them to preserve the history. At a very young age I could identify tobacco barns vs a regular barn. Tobacco farming has long been gone here. The farmers were offered a buyout and most of them took it.

The barn is looking great. Doglib too :-)
