Two months since I've scribbled here. in A small but passable life.

I’ve finished reading the stack of re-reads I’d gathered. And now I’m back to current novels. I’ve just finished reading “Holly” by Stephen King. And that makes seventeen books read so far this year. I’m reading a Neil Stephenson book right now and I’ve got a new Dean Koontz and a new John Grisham waiting next to my chair.

You know shit’s getting crazy when the day after a tropical storm intensifies to a Cat 5 hurricane in less than 24 hours and wipes out a city, Acapulco, on a coast that’s NEVER HAD a hurricane and I’m listening to NPR all afternoon and heard not a word about it. Not one word.

Two religions, killing each other’s innocents, for over one hundred years now, and the world acts like it’s never happened before. Wringing hands and crying foul. Like someone’s keeping score. Well, the Christians still have the top honors for causing death and destruction. By a long shot.

That’s almost as stupid as one man invading a country (and killing innocents) and the world not only watches but encourages it.

The aliens had been on their way for some time now. But they’ve recently said “Fuck those idiots!” and turned their ship around and started heading back home.

Stupid humans.

Well actually, there’s three human foibles that define human history: STUPIDITY, GREED. and ARROGANCE. Pick any event in human history and one or more of those will be the subtitle.

Enough said.

You nailed it , you would think we would learn from history but we never learn. We just keep destroying the planet and each other without hesitation.
