Killer Spiders! Tuesday, January 27, 2004
Today was a very good day at work. I think I laughed so much I lost weight. Ha. When I got to work today I noticed one of the girls had written a work order for "killer spiders" for the terminex guy. When he came in she explained that the spiders were the size of our hands. He said there isn't much he can do for spiders but he'd take a look. I didn't really believe her about the huge spiders so she asked if he found one to bring it back. I really didn't want to see them if he found them, but he humored us. Then he said, "Oh, you need a mouse trap!" And I said, "What?" He said that a little mouse had just ran behind our desk. Then he started looking behind the desk for it. THen he said, "don't move. It's right behind you." So I slowly turned to see if I could see it. Then he started laughing at me. Yeah funny stuff. The big liar. So he went on his way and came back and said he saw the killer spiders and that he brought one back. I just said, "look, I don't wanna see it... did you kill them?" And he said yes. Then he grabbed the spider and threw it at me!! I jumped up and freaked out. Then I realized it was a small plastic spider. Yeah everyone laughed at me. Especially him. He then said there were two more in the place where the killer spiders were. So yeah... the girl that wrote the work order was embarrassed. Well we set the spider down on a little table. When the other girl we work with walked in she set something on the small table and jumped when she spotted the spider. So then we laughed at her. Then we took the spider and put it on the pile of work orders for the maintenance guys to see. When they saw it they sarcasticly said, "Oh my gosh! There's a huge spider!" We all had a good laugh. It was a fun day at work.
We were actually pretty busy at work today, which is always nice. I am glad I work there. It's really a good place to work and the people are excellent. Anyway, tomorrow is going to be a busy day. Lots of snow and ice on the way. I hope I get to help shovel so that I get over time.
