Abby in a woodsy corner of the deck.

The thing on the right of the picture is an upsidedown cream can of family history. I painted it antique red in later era of family history and now it’s gotten all fungus-y on the deck. On top somewhat visible is a minor/miner rock collection.

Abby is doing pretty ok. We aren’t letting her loose without her leash outside. I want her to be able to be loose but I want to keep some control over her too.

Her history says she and a partner dog belonged to a woman who surrendered them when she went to a nursing home. She’s quite quiet and seems to have manners. She’s a big dog though - was 110 lbs, now is down to 90 something. She’s not demanding of food. Fine line between treating her and feeding her.

She and I have gone for morning and evening walks each day. She would really like to chase squirrels but that’s not a good idea. She is fascinated by cows - I think they are new to her. The cats have disapHpeared. It’s more the cats not liking the dog than the dog not liking the cats. I assume they will learn to get along better. Meanwhile it’s nice to have them at tails length away.

Best wishes to you all. I’ll be back soon…wish more to say. Perhaps.

She has such fabulous ears. Getting you out walking with her has got to be a good thing.
