I met an old friend yesturday and so glad she is back. Her name is Barbara Kingsolver. I met her years and years ago when I read the Poisonwood Bible and now I am reading "Prodigal Summer" and it is wonderful to be lost again in her words and her world. She takes you places where you can actually smell moss and see what coyote scat looks like and what it has eaten in the last 24 hours. I love books. But I am a fussy reader. I just don't read any ol thing it has to hit me. The last book I read was The Help. That was a wonderful book. It feels good to be lost again to be taken a way where otherwize you wouldn't go.
The rolls of thunder are coming an goin. It rained here hard today but not anywhere near where I was. My first client will be my last. Sadly she is a big woman and secondly her husband is too touchy - creepy touchy. He dragged me to church with them. What was wierd was there were black people there too but not with the other people. Why? The church had one name but the blacks were on one side of the church and the whites on the other. When they let church out they gathered in the long hall way but there was no mixing. There were 2 different pastors. The whole damn thing just confused me. Thankfully Buddhism isn't so segregated. We don't care.
I love Cicily Tison. Am I gonna belive what the damn fools are gonna say about me today? She was Master Class. She said she spoke to a bunch of young people who didn't know who Martin Luther King was...how sad is that?
