After Four Years, I Received A Gift Monday, December 29, 2003
There is Chad. Remember him from a long time ago? He was in my very first diary. That was the time I met Chad. I had really fallen in love with him online. I wanted to talk to him all the time. We talked on the phone once in a while too. I flew out 2200 miles to meet him. He came here to see Michigan. Then things calmed down and I decided that I didn't want to have the long distance relationship any longer. So I moved on...
Then today I received a gift from him through the mail. It's been about 4 years since I have seen him. We hardly talk online any more so just receiving something from him was wonderful. Then when I opened the gift from him and pulled it out my eyes grew large, my heart beat quickened, and tears formed in my eyes. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was absolutely the sweetest thing he could have sent to me.
That's the thing with Chad. He always made me feel special. He had a way with knowing what I wanted. Like the time I was with him in Canada. The whole time I was there was like a fantasy. He made me feel like I was beautiful and like I was important. It was absolutly perfect. I wouldn't have changed one thing that happened in Canada. His family was strong and kind. His friends were fun and nice. He himself was thoughtful and he always put me first. I couldn't ask for a nicer guy.
So I pulled the gift out and then read the card. It was a Christmas present with a birthday card. The card even said Merry Christmas from his family. It was so nice... but the gift... that's the great thing. That's the thing that brought tears to my eyes.
The gift was this stuffed animal. It was a little puppy dog. However, on this puppy dog was a string and hanging of this string was something I hadn't seen in about 4 years. When I had gone out to meet him we exchanged rings. I wore his and he wore mine around his neck. He had mailed me back the ring. I couldn't believe he still had it after all these years. I looked at the ring and tears came to my eyes. Even after 4 years of only talking a few times a year he still thought about me.
Thank you, Chad. Thank you for making my day. You know I still love you. I hope to talk to you soon.
