Today we flew back. We had a 9:10am flight from Amsterdam, which meant we had to get to the airport by 6:10am, which means we had to leave the ship by 5:45am, which meant we had to get our luggage ready by 5am, which meant we had to get up at 4:30am.

And we were not the first people to be off the ship, surprisingly.

The ship sailed overnight from Kinderdijk to Amsterdam. When we drove out, I actually recognised the central station. There is an advantage to such an early flight - there was no traffic in Amsterdam. The car ride should take 30 minutes normally, but we were at the airport in 20 minutes. And, there was no line to check in, and the security line was short (they were located inside the gates), so our arrival to the airport was smooth and we had an extra hour of time on our hand. (That's when I wrote the previous entry). The flight was also smooth, there were no delays at all. I watched Thor and Captain America back-to-back, and we were at JFK already. We are quite impressed with KLM's in-flight meals, though, as airplane food go, they are pretty good. The flight was almost 8 hours, so minus the 6 hour time difference, we landed around 11am. There were no line for immigration or custom, so everything went smoothly. The only scary part was the taxi driver who didn't seem to know what he was doing, and the only delay we had on this trip back was the traffic on Long Island Expressway.

Most of today we slept. I was hungry by the time we got back so we went to get McDonalds, and then I took a nap around 3pm, and woke up at 9pm. La Professeure came to take a nap at around 5pm, and she is still sleeping; it's 2 in the morning now. I think she is still recovering from the cold. La Professeure is almost all better now, but the lack of sleep has been taking a toll.

So, that's our honeymoon. It's been fun, and rich, in experience and activities. I'm most impressed with our river cruise company - we are most likely going to do another cruise with them. We still have to unpack and back up our pictures and photos, but life will return to normal next week... with the exception that La Professeure's parents are going to be visiting to bring the rats back them.
