I napped a little bit in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. When I woke up from my nap, it was day time already and the stewardess were offering the breakfast package to everybody. An hour later we landed in Amsterdam.

I find it strange that, even though our final destination was Budapest, we had to go through custom there. When we got to Budapest, we were surprised how tiny the Budapest airport it was. It still has those rotating electronic signal boards.

Because the waiting area was so small, it was no probem finding our cruise line's representative, who promptly herded us into a bus, which then took us to our boat in 1/2 hours.

So, from shuttle pick up to checking into our stateroom, it took about 18 hours, which is not bad, all things considered. The cruise line has a buffet lunch waiting for us when we arrived, so I got t eat something to suppliment the airline's yummy but inadequate food. La Professeure took a shower and then we proceeded to explore the dock area of Budapest - the dock is located near the town center, so it was very easy to get around, with lots of shops geared towareds tourists. We walked along the Danube until La Professeure's thirst (she forgot to bring water and the nearby shops don't make changes in euros) made us turn back.

We'll see more of the city tomorrow, but we spent the rest of the day meeting the ship's personnel and some of our fellow travellors. It was a bit of a challenge to find fellow travellors who have hair and whose hair is not white. We met up with a couple from Memphis who are probably closest to us in age - and they have sons and daughers in their 20s. There was also a mom from Seattle and three her daughters, and a gentleman from LA who is actually born in Hong Kong travelling with his friends. All in all, very interesting people you meet.

I suppose I have to write about the ship and our room, but since I have an early morning tomorrow (have to wake up at 7:30am) and I didn't have a lot of sleep last night, I shall leave that for another day.
