Done is Better Than Perfect in These Foolish Things

OMG it is 6pm on a Friday evening and I have spent ALL WEEK creating a presentation for a company that I don’t even have an interview with! I put this project together hoping to get my foot in the door of this very cool company, and it has taken me alllll freaking week to create it. I’ve sent in my application and I have heard only crickets and here I think that a project is going to change everything.

I kept telling myself for the last three days: “Done is better than perfect. DONE is better than perfect!” And it’s finally done and yet there’s no reason to send the thing out since it’s the weekend! Or maybe I should? Maybe someone will read it over the weekend? Hmmmmm…

At least I finally feel some accomplishment. Whew.

I do have a couple of things actually brewing:

  • It appears the outdoor structure company has gone through the vetting process this week. I had to fill out paperwork last week that would allow the company to do a background check on me. And I guess the last step is to have an interview with the executive VP of Sales (yuck), who seems eager to talk with me. It’s funny - NONE of these guys at this company has a profile photo in their Linkedin bio, but the one guy who’s actually gotten on a VIDEO call with me is extremely handsome. I wonder if the whole company is just so freaking HOT that they avoid putting their headshots in their profiles so people will actually take them seriously…hahah!
  • A very well-known shoe company is interested in speaking with me about a Brand Manager role. We are talking on Tuesday.

  • I need one of these! Here’s the order in which I would like job offers:

    1. Cool-ass furniture company for which I just finished this project but haven’t yet sent in! I need the connection to be made with the HR person.

    2. Fun as hell shoe company where I could play with shoes all day!

    3. Outdoor structure company, which would be okay, but less exciting for me

    Let’s manifest this shit!

    Love and good juju,
    GS
