Flower Dreams in Everyday Ramblings

Foxglove on the flower clock. Lupines and Queen Anne’s Lace and the first wild sweet peas in the disturbed areas. A sure sign of summer.

Did I mention that last week I watched all 13 episodes of coverage of the Chelsea Flower show? I was dreaming flowers for a few days. Much interesting discussion of “Cheese” plants among my yoga students. It is a term we don’t use here and if one Googles it from the U.S., (as someone did during class) one gets entries on plants made from cheese. No.

There is apparently a type of marijuana by that name, so it took me awhile to get down to the fact that these plants are what we call Mallow. They do grow in Macau. I found a poem by a trans woman of Fiji and Macau origin that mentions cheese plants. It is, after all, Pride Month.

Yesterday I had the first phase of the current round of dental surgery. I had infection in my jaw and quite a bit of bone loss, so it was good to have had it done. I used the ice pack for about 3 hours after I got home and am thrilled to have minimal swelling and bruising.

I haven’t seen “my” Periodontist in about four years. He is the best. He is kind and thoughtful and skilled and thorough. We talked about the pandemic, and he had some useful insight into why my students are more anxious now than they were a year ago.

It is kind of ironic that my Fitbit thinks I am sleeping when I have had these procedures because I assure you, I was not asleep.

Other than a truly bad dream last night everything is going well, no complications. I get my stitches out in a couple of weeks. I did notice that I am more resilient and more energetic than I was when I was having surgery before during the awful job and teaching at the church. So that is a positive.

And now I can heal. It is good overall for my system to get the infection cleaned up. Kes and Most Honorable are coming up tomorrow and I am looking forward to hanging with them and having their laps available for cats.

It is so hard to believe it is almost midway through June! Wow. Just wow.

You have my great and vast sympathy on the dental surgery.

Gotta say, when I read your entries, I think "yeah, I need a not-horrible job." I would probably be more resilient, as well. Sigh, just want to get through the heart tests in one piece so I can get it together and move on.

Is the Chelsea show on PBS? I will have to find it. I am glad you are past this recent dental surgery. And for the lack of swelling and bruising, hope your healing will be quick. I always remind myself to be grateful for living in a time where there are procedures for such things. Glad you are on the mend and there will be laps foe cats available.

If you have Brit Box, the whole thing is available ad free. If you Google it some episodes are available so you can get a feel. I watch the current season of Gardeners’ World on HD Clump because although there are ads they don’t interfere with the show. Sharing some of my healing energy with you!

Thanks. Just the sort of show I need right now. Thank you for the healing energy. I am sending mine to you, perhaps this will have a doubling effect for each of us.
