Petty picture of a newly leafed tree and a partial blue sky but what is unusual about this street tree is that it is a magnolia with soft lemony colored flowers. I couldn’t quite get a good shot of the flowers. They are not big showy things but more discreet. And yes, they are a thing.
Right this minute in late afternoon it is warm and clear and lovely. It is such a tease because later the wind will bring the rain back for seven days. My starts are doing fine at the garden, not great, but fine but other than a wayward nasturtium from last years not quite thorough seed collection activity, my seeds are not coming up. I think I am seeing a couple of Zinnias. All the rain.
I ordered a mesh cold frame to put on my patio so I can harden off my seedlings. I have spinach and three kinds of tomatoes. And Kes wants to see if I can get cuttings from my catnip plant. No way I can keep them anywhere (where there is light) safe in the house. Looking forward to seeing how that works, particularly with the rain. I will figure something out.
This week in my classes I am teaching feet and ankles and taking a deep dive into the structure and health of both. This morning when I woke up, I noticed that my feet feel great. Not the usual aches I normally get. It goes to show, a little maintenance can go a long way. One of my students in the morning classes has been telling her friends and two of them have joined my subscription package. One of them is 79. Good for her.
I asked them to acquire a tennis ball or equivalent, a dog ball, or a specially designed self-massage ball for class. I try to teach without any props but especially as we get older and reaching one’s feet becomes more of a challenge a ball can be so useful.
Yesterday I started my posture class, for me as well. I didn’t realize how interactive it was going to be but the teachers, (there are three) will be watching us. Eek. It is a good refresher for stuff I learned in my original training 8 years ago. One of the interesting features here is the emphasis on the cavities of the body more than the spinal curves and…, also, the new science of connective tissue.
Wish me no hives with this next Covid shot in a few hours, okay? No excess hair loss either. I am glad to get it and have the afternoon and evening to rest. Talk about privilege.
