Phone Bill in Days of My Destiny

My mobile phone bill was unusually high this month. I just finished looking over each phone call... the calls I made to do with this business/Committee itself total $344.89.
I just emailed the Treasurer and Vice President to see what they think about getting a reimbursement for these calls.
It's only that much because I had to make a lot of calls to landlines from my mobile phone until we connected our home phone.
It's also that much because I've had to make more phone calls than I usually would, seeing as our Director resigned and in the absence of one, I am the one that needs to do some of her work.
If it were $100 even, I probably wouldn't bother chasing it up. But the calls total an amount that is just.... phenomenal... and I AM a volunteer....... so.......................
You know.
My calls are capped. I pay a certain amount that gives me $600 worth of calls. But this month I went over this by $130 odd. So technically, I could simply ask for a reimbursement amount that covers the $130, or I could ask for the full $344. I've started with the greater amount lol. We'll see what happens.
Because we are a charity, Committee members can be paid if the payment "advances the charity's charitable purpose"........ and I feel that in the absence of a Director and in the middle of trying to restructure, the purpose of my actual work to do with this business (including phone calls) has been exactly that... to advance the charity's charitable purpose! I just hope the Treasurer and Vice President agree. I don't know who actually would be the appropriate person to reimburse me, that's why I've emailed them....

As a person that deals with employee expenses for a living... you're damn right you should be reimbursed. You were at the mercy of the phone company to install your phone. Get all of it!
