Mississippi by Sheryl Crow is one of my favorite songs because I bought The Globe Sessions when it came out in 1999 and it has become one of my go-to depression records, although I'm not sure the songs themselves are depressing, it's just what I want to hear when I'm not feeling at my best. This song was actually the first anything Bob Dylan I'd ever heard. In fact, I'd never heard of Bob Dylan before this except for the vague reference that his son was the lead singer of The Wallflowers.
