Okay, you all know that Target is pretty much my favorite hobby lately, right? I go to Target at least weekly. It’s my Saturday morning joy to get to Target when they first open, before the annoying (and Covid-riddled) crowd gets there, and I stroll nearly every aisle to see what’s new and to get what I need that week.
My local Target also houses my CVS drug store, so it’s also where I pick up the myriad medications I have to take every day as well as my supplements and other junk.
So yesterday we got off work early and I had some prescriptions to pick up and also needed to run next door to the grocery to pick up the fixins for the salad I’m bringing to my family’s Christmas feast (if I didn’t bring salad we’d have no greens save for the green beans soaked in bacon fat).
I really didn’t want to go to Target on the afternoon of Christmas Eve Eve, but I needed those meds! So I decided to brave the crowd with a purpose. I threw on my best N95 mask and started barreling down the main aisle that leads to the pharmacy. I was highly focused but also paying attention to the crowd walking my direction....and who did I see headed my way??
It was a sharp, tall, bald man, dressed in a black sweater and blazer on top and a short leather skirt and stiletto heels, also walking with purpose. I recognized him in an instant. I mean, how many men in this day and age are dressed to the nines in a Target - AND ALSO IN A SKIRT AND STILETTOS?!
It was Mark Bryan, a straight, male fashion model (and businessman) who lives in Germany and just happens to love wearing skirts and amazing womens’ shoes. It has nothing to do with sexual identity (his motto is “clothes and shoes should not dictate a persons sexual orientation or gender”) and everything to do with fashion and style and I LOVE this guy! I have followed him on Instagram for a couple of years now, watching his international modeling career take off. It’s been wild to see.
So I had to!
But I didn’t know what to say!
So as he got closer, I finally just said… “Mark?”
And he stopped and we said hello and I told him that I was a HUGE fan and gushed a little bit, and he seemed appreciative to be recognized from Instagram (and probably not gawked at). And then I asked what he was doing in [my city] (and especially in my Target!) and he told me that his daughter lives here and he was visiting and I didn’t want to keep him so I said it was great to see him and to have a happy Holiday.
I wanted to get a pic, but there was no way to do that and I didn’t want to bother him as we were likely both on Holiday missions to get stuff done, but it was so fun to see someone INTERESTING at my Target!
Anyway, check this guy out - he wears the most amazing fashion combinations - dapper gentleman on top and exquisite femininity on the bottom. And he wears it so well!
Now. I hope to see Javier Bardem on my next Target run!
Fangirling,
GS
