Winter Plans (NoJoMo 16) in NoJoMo 2021

What are your plans for December?

To try and not freeze inside this house. Unfortunately we are already used to living in a really cold house, because the old house didn’t have central heat or air. So during the winter we relied on space heaters for every room we were going to be in. We had 4 in the house. One in the living room, one in the bedroom, one in the bathroom and another one we would move from the guest bedroom to the office, depending on where we needed it.

Now this house has gas heaters. One in the living room/dad’s bedroom. It’s one of those upright wall heaters. And in our bedroom, there was a upright standalone heater in the corner, but that’s where our bed is now so we are using our electric heater that was in our living room. It looks like a little fireplace. It keeps the room pretty warm, but there’s gaping holes in the ceiling in this room and the back room has no ceiling at all.

the living room stays warm too, but also, absolutely no ceiling there either. We have some foam insulation panels that were in the shed at the old house when we moved in so we’re going to put some of those up so we can have at least a little bit of insulation in the ceilings. so that way it stays a little bit warmer.

There’s also no insulation in the walls, but that’s what we are hoping to get fixed with the grant that my dad applied for. We won’t hear anything about that until January or February though.

Sooooo yeah. That’s pretty much it. My birthday is December 10th and I’ll be posting a wishlist on facebook of small items I’m interested in if anyone wants to purchase something for me, but if not, that’s fine too. I am cursed with a December birthday, so I get the dreaded birthday/christmas present. Anyone who does that to me is getting their birthday present (no matter when their birthday is) on Christmas. I doubt they will be happy about it, but it happens to me ALL the time, has happened to me since I was a kid lol.

We are planning to go to LC sometime at the beginning of December. I don’t know what we’re doing for Christmas. But I don’t think we will be going anywhere.
