I forgot I wasn’t working at the Alp today after the daycare, and went to the Alp. I swear.

So. Tyson hasn’t been feeling well for several months. He vomits for no good reason, and the food isn’t fully digested even after 5-8 hours. Labs were fine in June, but we put him on an acid reducer hoping that it would help. It hasn’t. UA was fine last week. We just started adding fortiflora to his food on Doc’s recommendation.

We tried switching him to sensitive stomach, but that didn’t help. We thought he wasn’t getting sick when we fed him chicken and rice, so I cooked up a bunch of it only to find out, yes, he has been getting sick on it. So I put it through the food processor hoping that maybe if it’s mechanical soft it would digest, but no. After about 4 hours it looked like he just ate it and puked it back up. So now I’m going to puree it completely.

It explains why he’s lost so much muscle mass.
He’s acting fine otherwise. Some stiff joints, but nothing out of the ordinary. We started Cosequin for the stiffness, but he was vomiting way before we started that.

Doc said it may be pancreatitis, and that would make some sense, but now with the home cooked food I’m not sure. ::sigh:: I’m at a loss, and I’m worried :(

Pancreatitis would certainly make sense. My brother's dog just went through all of that and it's such a mess. Poor Tyson. I hope you're able to figure out what's up.

When Shelby was going through chemo last year, she was getting a lot of diarrhea and a little vomiting here and there. Granted, that was most definitely due to all the meds she was on (specifically her twice daily chemo pill). But her oncologist recommended a product called Rx Clay. I'd never heard of it before, but it really helped her tummy issues for a while. (It only stopped working because her body was just...shutting down and nothing was helping at all at that point.) But maybe check into that to see if it might be a thing for Ty?? It's mostly geared toward diarrhea, but it's a gastrointestinal thing, so it MIGHT help him too?

Thank you!!!

Of course!! Anything I can do to help, just let me know! <3 I just read your entry about the Pedialyte, so hopefully that helps too. Does he eat ice cubes, by chance? Because you could always maybe boil a turkey hotdog and freeze the hotdog water to entice him a little.

Skit loved ice cubes. Tyson likes to carry it for a few minutes then put it right where you'll step on the wet spot later lol

lmao I know that wet spot feeling WELL! Shelby devoured ice cubes for her entire life. But even then, sometimes she'd get tired of them or get distracted and leave them in various spots. When she was going through chemo, I guess she decided she didn't like regular tap water in a bowl anymore, so we had bowls of ice in both rooms that she spent the most time in. Except...ice freaking MELTS. lol And to get the ice out of the water, she'd use her paw to tip the bowl over, dumping the entire liquid contents out. So we were pretty much constantly having to sop up puddles. After the first couple months of that, we bought those rubber mats that go under bowls to catch the spills.

How's Tyson doing?? Give him pets for me!
