"YOU DON'T KNOW ME" in "RESTLESS: POETICALLY-SPEAKING"

You don’t know me well enough
especially to live my life
to make such short-sighted assumptions.
That’s okay, though.
Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions,
no matter how flawed.

You don’t know me that much
to say what I should or shouldn’t do.
That’s okay, though.
I’ve been so used to being misunderstood.
Sometimes staying mysterious feels good.
I don’t care if you’re confused.

You don’t know me.
Maybe, you just don’t even want to.
Are you eager to find out what’s really true?
I’m amazed that you have the time and energy
to work on, or perhaps to come up with
plenty of absurd theories about me.

Thank you, honey,
but I am no celebrity,
just an ordinary me
you may find so freaky.

Just like many,
Full of speculations,
You may never really know about me
if you keep listening to them
instead of talking to me,
like, directly.
