Life just keeps getting better and better. I imagine it's all going to crash down around me at some stage, but I really hope not. Ever since I officially quit my job a month ago, my life has been amazing.
I've made so many new friends. I think I currently have the most active social life I've had since I was at boarding school! Because I'm no longer struggling to survive each day, I have energy to be with people - and people are so wonderful. Wow. I love everyone I'm around, so much.
We had a fantastic time in Canterbury. I got so homesick staying in yet another hotel that on the Friday I came all the way back to London, just for three hours at home because there were so many things I wanted to do there, but other than that, I was really happy to be there. I spent an entire afternoon lying on the grass in the spring sunshine. I don't remember the last time I did that. I love grass. There were swans, real ones, and cobbled alleyways and the magnificent cathedral and fascinating little shops and delightful conversations and astonishing discoveries and hanging out with some of my favourite people in the world....
This week is High Wycombe, which is close enough to London that I can come home every night, which is a blessing. I love being at home so much after my decade of nonstop travel. It's absurd that it's taken me so long to finally have a life - but I have to actually BE there to have a life, and being constantly off to one place or another has meant I never have been. (I know it seems like I'm still travelling a lot at the moment, but this is travel I've planned myself, as part of enhancing my life, organised in advance - unlike the last-minute chaos that has characterised the past 12 years...)
Tonight was wonderful. Last night was wonderful. Tomorrow Annette is joining us for the day, and it's going to be wonderful too.
Oh, and my mother and I are planning to go into business together and have come up with a whole new career for both of us. I can't wait. It is so exciting. It'll be crazy, but I know we can make it work. Because we'll both be loving what we do, and that makes all the difference.
Best day of my life so far coming up tomorrow....
