On Monday, the AL place was opened up to visitors for the residents as long as they had made an appointment, all could eat in the dining room, could be out in common areas and workers only had to wear two masks. Yesterday a staff member tested positive and everything went back to residents confined to their rooms, no visitors and staff having to wear n95 mask, surgical mask and face shield. Ugh!

In other AL news, one of the residents had to be moved from the personal care side to the memory care side. She had been trying to leave the facility at times as well as attacking some care givers. I didn’t think she was that bad as she was usually in her room doing word puzzle books or out in the common area watching tv but I didn’t know about the violence to the care giver. I had to deliver something to the memory care side and I saw her sitting with some other residents watching tv. I said hi to her and she seemed like always. I am going to miss her.

It's so hard when residents start to go downhill but it's for her safety, too.

Sometimes the confusion and agitation comes and goes . It’s usually worse at night for people with dementia.
