I had a friend until yesterday.
Her daughter is the same age as my oldest, barely 14. A month ago when friend went away camping this girl threw a party at their house. The place was trashed, stuff was stolen, police were called because boys were smashing bottles on the road, and the golf course next door was vandalised and littered with empty alcohol vessels and drug paraphernalia.
When Mum comes home it all comes out that this kid has been drinking and smoking pot and having unprotected sex for MONTHS.
And what consequence does she get?
A new kitten.
Is it not a good friend who says something? I literally never speak up but this time I did. I said the kitten sends the wrong message that she can disrespect you and herself and then get a reward afterward.
“Friend” had a tantrum and swiftly blocked and deleted me from social media and everything. 9 years of friendship she just pulled the plug. I’m thinking about it a lot but Im not obsessing, which is odd because normally I’d be a messover this type of thing.
I realised, I’m the feel good friend. I’m the one who makes her feel better about herself and her parenting and her life choices BECAUSE I never say anything. Now the moment I ruined that for her, she has a tantrum.
I suppose with age comes wisdom?
There’s loads of other stuff going on but aim too pooped.
Sobriety kind of sucks but I’m still in it.
