David had his last injection today. He enters the observation period tomorrow and has to make it till February 18th without a relapse or we have to start treatment over from the beginning. His bloodwork has been perfect at every check point during treatment, and he’s a totally different cat than he was in September. I am daring to have high hopes for him. For as much has he hates his injections, he’s gotten into the routine of coming to me for his pain meds and then his injection. He’s a brave little cat. Since day one, his brother Johnny has bullied him (pull him off his nipple before they had their eyes open type of bullying) and now, despite Johnny being nearly 16 pounds to David’s 8, David totally dominates Johnny. The pushover, delicate flower no more. I hear of so many cats fearing or avoiding their people during the treatment (it’s a painful medication that feels like fire (accidentally got some in a cut and ooohh lord, awful)). David has gotten more affectionate and cuddly. Even minutes after yelling at me and biting while getting his injection, he’ll come right back and snuggle up. He’s incredible and has earned his right to survival. Love my little moon cat.

You’ve got this, David. You can beat this virus like you beat Johnny when he’s trying to bully you. Just keep fighting. X
