NJM 2020, Entry 5 - Clusters Upon Fucks in These Foolish Things

Ugh. What a day it’s been so far. Starting with my work laptop being weird - actually, that started yesterday - I left the office early because there were rumors of protests downtown and I wanted to get home before those kicked off. Luckily, they were peaceful last night. Hopefully, they will continue being peaceful. That’s a whole other entry, and one I hope I don’t have to write.

Anyway, my battery blew and warped the entire keyboard area so I couldn’t use the keyboard. IT guy told me to bring it to him first thing in the morning, so I did. He looked at it, said he’d replace the battery and then…poof…he was gone! I was all…where’s my laptop? How am I supposed to work today?

Then! All hell broke loose and I was trying to put out fires with my freaking phone! As in, sending emails and making calls and trying to look things up on spreadsheets via my iphone. It was super dumb.

I finally got in touch with the IT guy and he was all, “Oh! Yeah, well I had to go down to the other location so I’ll replace the battery when I’m back.”

But he didn’t tell me when he was coming back! So the fires kept coming and the landslides happened after that and I almost simply quit. But I had lunch with a new co-worker in a break room instead.

Lunch was interesting. This new co-worker happens to work for Boss as well. Remember that Best Bud used to work here, and remember Brown Nosey? New co-worker has been put in place as a hybrid between those two jobs. She’s brand new and understands my frustration already. Seems she gets a lot of the same baloney that I put up with. So the good news is that I’m not alone, but the bad news is that…I’m still HERE!

Finally got the tools I needed to do my job at 2pm.

I’m still trying to fix the debacles of the morning and field questions from Boss. He is asking me millions of questions thinking I don’t have answers…oh, but I DO!! And it’s already nearly quittin’ time.

What a day…what a day.

Watched the race last night, wondering why there are so many conflicting election results out there. I mean, one media outlet says one thing about electoral votes, another says something else. Did you see that Trumpsters are actually pissed at Fox News? I find this wildly amusing!

And my hopes are up for actually seeing a Biden win, but I know that Trump will not go down without a fight. And the Proud Boys and all the other folks who’d run a bus off the highway are getting completely riled up and it makes me nervous.

SO MUCH CHATTER about a Civil War!! What the hell? What does this mean? Are we literally going to have people get dressed in uniforms and fight each other? What would a civil war look like? Is it going to involve raping and pillaging? I can’t imagine what that could be EXCEPT that I feel like I’ve seen glimpses with the riots and the gun-toters and spewed hatred and the running busses off the freeway. Are we already IN a civil war right now? Maybe so.

Ah well, so much for getting a bunch of stuff done today. I needed Boss to answer questions for me in order to move forward with my big project. This is what happens when your Boss doesn’t trust you. You get stifled. Sigh.

I am going to dinner with The Bulldog tonight. He’d asked to take me out for my birthday, but the weather was horrible and I didn’t feel like it. But today/tonight the weather is going to be wonderful so we can sit outside and talk all kinds of baloney.

And the latest from NORT, the Wooer? Well, he invited me to come over to his place for dinner last night. He lives 2 hours away from me. How is that wooing? If he’s gonna woo, he’s gonna have to do better than that.

I better go walk the dog before the drive to dinner. I suggested a place that’s kinda far out of my way because they have a gorgeous patio and I wanted to try it, so…it will be a long drive and likely an interesting experience.

Until tomorrow, my loves,
GS

Clusters Upon Fucks

2020 has a new slogan!

Deleted user November 05, 2020

All the Civil War battles will take place in Walmarts, Taco Bells and be sponsored by Mountain Dew. We will be safe if we hide out in libraries, oat milk factories and PBS studios.

Ginger Snap Deleted user ⋅ November 06, 2020

This is absolutely hilarious - and probably very true!

plushcreep November 05, 2020

If we are headed for Civil War, this one will never live up to the original because where are all the really cool names? There is no Orville C. Bumpus or Pleasant Unthank. Nary a Peyton Farquhar or Lucretia Mott. Vestal Coffin? Nope. Rooster Cogburn? Nada. Sylvannus Cadwallader, Jedediah Hotchkiss, Moxley Sorrel, Wrede Sartorius? All lacking. There isn't even a Bushrod Johnson, for crying out loud. We can't fight a war with Chloes and Calebs, for godsakes...

bobbi01 November 05, 2020

Ugh, it is going to drag on forever if 45 has his way. Nah nobody should have to drive anywhere for a wooing.

Ginger Snap bobbi01 ⋅ November 06, 2020

I don't know if people are going to LET it drag on forever. We'll probably have some recounts because they are SO close, but we need to end this suspense!

I don't know how many times I have to say it, but inviting someone over for "dinner" should be off the table until AT LEAST a month or two into the relationship. It's not a date.

Ginger Snap Parliament ⋅ November 06, 2020

I agree! And there's not even a relationship! That's my point. If he thinks he's wooing, he's not doing it right.

Deleted user Parliament ⋅ November 06, 2020

J, I'd totes invite you over for "dinner"...

Jinn November 08, 2020

I do not think we will see Civil War unless Trump refuses to leave the White House.
