I’ll put this here because no one cares what I do here.

What do you think though - what would happen if I posted it on Facebook? Where my friends and neighbors and relatives all live?

Chaz September 24, 2020

Do it.

ConnieK September 24, 2020

Oh my goodness, I just don't have an hour to invest in this. I do think most Christian thought is off-base but not buying the atheist claim.

crystalrose September 24, 2020

Who knows how they would respond.. looks kinda interesting to me though

thesunnyabyss September 24, 2020

it could start some interesting conversations that wouldn't be had otherwise?

Do you really want to know what they think? Because I learned things about some of the people I know with posts like that, and it was very disappointing. It also caused some problems with certain members of an ex-BF's family. Not religious posts, but when his father found out I was liberal and voted for Obama, he brought it up with snarky commentary at every gathering and eventually it became a real problem for my relationship because I didn't want to be around my ex's family.

I have facebook friends who I've known family wise for generations - it's a small town/an even smaller neighborhood. They are Christians and Republicans - conditions I believe to be mutually exclusive - and they post really cruel and stupid things that bother the hell out of me. I can ignore them but it's hard and it's sad. So anyway.
I was not a huge fan of Obama - he wasn't black enough for me - but he was surely black enough for the racists. They will never forgive him for being elected or forgive those who voted for him for doing it.
I really regret Hillary losing both times.

Jeez, I miss that guy! He knew more about any religion than the religionists themselves! Did you read that book?

They might debate about spending an hour to listen to something that wasn't a specific interest, but if one person was outraged and wrote about it then others would read too. Forgive me but I did not listen to it.

You're right = of course. I think you are always right. An hour watching what someone else has chosen is too big a price to pay in this day and age, in this part of our own lives.
It's so much easier to rattle off something evil and stupid. We all do it. Including my facebook friends. Though... surprisingly... there are others who blather from the other side of the page.

The above note is true but it's not personal. YOu are not the kind of person who does that. Ever.

NorthernSeeker September 25, 2020

Mr. NS has read a couple of books by Christopher Hitchens...we still have them.

Serin September 27, 2020

I thought his views were important, but Mr Hitchens always seemed unable to separate the organizations from the individuals. And his offense at the organizations felt applied to the individuals. Which made him too angry for me to delve much into his work even though I agree with the points I've heard.
